Between June 9-10, 2026, the SOB4ES consortium came together for the Third Annual Progress meeting.

Hosted by Charles University at the National Museum of Agriculture in Prague, Czech Republic, the partners spent two enjoyable days, sharing highlights and learnings from the last year.
Looking ahead to the project's next phase, partners presented recent findings and ongoing analyses, including results from expert and user surveys on biodiversity indicators and assessments of their cost-effectiveness.
The partners also discussed upcoming publications as well as efforts to integrate the knowledge they have gained on soil biodiversity into ecosystem services.

The second Mini Public took place at the historic Trippenhuis in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Participants met to learn about soil biodiversity and explore the historic garden.
The event titled Future Soils: Soil Health and Soil Health Monitoring in the Netherlands”, which was jointly organised by partners NIOO-KNAW and UGent.
The results of the discussions will be further evaluated and used to inform future policies

Mini Publics Citizen Engagement Event | Dublin May 2025
Participants meet for the first Mini Public in Dublin in May 2025
This deliberative citizens’ engagement event explored the question: “How can we improve soil health in our city and country?”
The event was jointly organised by the SOB4ES consortium partners University College Dublin (UCD), Airfield Estate as well as the University of Gent (UGent).
The participants agreed that improving soil health is the responsibility of everyone in society.
